![]() Auburn, Ala. - Temperatures in the mid 90s made for hot, stifling conditions on the intramural fields as the Auburn football team practiced for a little more than an hour and a half in shoulder pads Monday afternoon. Despite the heat, Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville was impressed with the Tigers' effort during Monday's workout. "Today was the first day of shoulder pads and we had some pretty good contact," Tuberville said. "I thought the offensive and defensive lines competed really well today. I liked the intensity we had today." Tuberville also noted the work put in Monday by the wide receiving corps. "The receivers did pretty well today," Tuberville noted. "They caught the ball better than they have in a long time. They need to keep improving and really develop some consistency. We'll start doing more team drills Thursday." The Tigers will practice again Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. on the intramural fields. With the 2008 season opener just 26 days away, single-game tickets are available for the Louisiana-Monroe, Southern Miss, Arkansas and Tennessee-Martin home games.
